The role of the Literacy Resource Teacher (LRTs) is to provide mentoring, resourcing, and expertise as the lead teacher in Literacy responsible for student tracking and demonstrating best practices to improve literacy pedagogy in the classroom. The Literacy Resource Teacher ensures that schemes of learning and resources support the development of literacy in all subject areas. The Literacy Resource Teacher provides instructional support to teachers, training and professional development, organizes literacy events to promote the love for reading and much more.
The role of the Special Education Resource Teacher (SERT) provides direct support and resources for students with exceptional learning needs, working with teachers to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), offer differentiated instruction, conduct assessments, and provide guidance to classroom teachers and parents regarding student strengths and needs. Their role involves adapting curriculum, planning instruction, and offering expertise to foster an inclusive learning environment for all students.
