Literacy

The role of the Literacy Resource Teacher (LRTs) is to provide mentoring, resourcing, and expertise as the lead teacher in Literacy responsible for student tracking and demonstrating best practices to improve literacy  pedagogy in the classroom. The Literacy Resource Teacher ensures that schemes of learning and resources support the development of literacy in all subject areas.  The Literacy Resource Teacher provides instructional support to teachers, training and professional development, organizes literacy events to promote the love for reading and much more.

The Scholastic Bookfair - May 23rd to May 26th 

Dear Families

The Scholastic Bookfair is here!! Sales begin Tuesday, May 23rd until Friday, May 26th , 2023 and it will be held in the MHEC school library. Early in the week each classroom will visit the bookfair with their teacher. Afterwards, the bookfair will be open for student purchases daily during lunch and after school. On Wednesday, May 24th I will be open after school from 5pm-7pm for any community members who wish to visit the Bookfair. The payment options available are cash or EMT. All EMTs must be received before the purchase(s) can be taken home. A flyer has been sent home with this letter so you can take a sneak peek at what’s available, I have also attached pictures of the flyers here.

This is an exciting time for our students and a great way to encourage our students to read. I hope to see you all there!! 😊
