As part of their enrichment, Veda and Latavia explored ways to begin recycling at our school. They researched recycling practices and created a PowerPoint presentation to share their ideas with others. To better understand current habits and challenges, the students also designed and implemented a school survey to collect information from staff and students. Veda and Latavia then analyzed the data to identify patterns and areas where improvements could be made. Using their findings, they developed ideas for an organized recycling system that would make it easier for everyone in the school to sort and dispose of materials properly. This project helped them build skills in research, data collection, analysis, and communication while encouraging environmental responsibility.
Tyler, Aiden, and Angel - Testing Reflexes With and Without Music
Aiden Sutherland, Tyler Bear, and Angel Sutherland Taylor designed and carried out an experiment to investigate how music affects reaction time. They used a reflex-testing app to measure how quickly participants could respond to a visual signal. The students tested both classmates and school staff under two conditions: with music playing and without music.
By comparing the results from each condition, they aimed to determine whether music improves, worsens, or has no effect on a person’s reflexes. This investigation helped them explore concepts related to the brain, attention, and how external factors can influence human performance.
This is the BBC Sheep Dash game that the students used to test people's reflexes.
